MISS BOLLYWOOD ­ SYNOPSIS

Miss Bollywood is a musical extravanganza that combines spectacular choreography and staging and tells the story of 'Shilpa' a young classically trained choreographer who finds herself thrust into the limelight where she must sink or swim. Her tribulations include the unwanted attentions of a famous but predatory choreographer and a jealous diva. Will vulnerability, purity of heart and a sizzling passion for dance allow Shilpa to fulfil her dreams?

Miss Bollywood promises to take its audiences on a two-hour rollercoaster ride behind the scenes and backstage in the world of Bollywood. This fun-filled musical is a celebration of Bollywood's kitsch and splendour as well as its unique brand of humour in a colourful, contemporary and yet cultured representation of Bollywood.

With Shilpa Shetty playing the lead character who fights for her dignity and her dance form by standing up to a famous choreographer and director, the musical showcases a combination of different dance forms from the east and west that are absorbed and transformed into the phenomenon known as 'Bollywood' dance. With an eye-popping array of song sequences, re-capturing on stage many of the Hindi film industries greatest hits, Miss Bollywood has been devised by renowned choreographer Ganesh Hegde. The show is produced by international impresario and promoter Farhath Hussain with Raj Kundra, directed by Morani's and Soorma in association with Michael E. Ward with costumes by top fashion designer, Neeta Lulla.

Miss Bollywood has all the glamour and scale of an international production with a warm and affectionate Indian heart.
